What real AJ Bell customers say
AJ Bell referral code offer: £100 Amazon voucher for you and a friend

Looking for an AJ Bell referral code that actually gives you £100? You are in the right place, with one honest catch I will explain in a second.

I have held my AJ Bell Stocks and shares ISA for around six to seven years, so this is not a review written from the outside. I use the platform every month and I refer friends to it, which is exactly how this offer works.

Open and fund an eligible AJ Bell account through my referral link below and you and I each get a £100 Amazon.co.uk gift card.

There is no code to type. Just use this link:

👉 Click here to open AJ Bell with the £100 Amazon voucher offer applied

You need to open a SIPP, Stocks and shares ISA, Lifetime ISA or Dealing account and fund a combined £10,000 within 120 days. The value of investments can go down as well as up.

Is There an AJ Bell Promo Code or Discount Code?

Short answer: no. A lot of people search for an "AJ Bell promo code", "AJ Bell coupon code" or "AJ Bell discount code", so let me clear it up.

AJ Bell does not run a code-based promotion. There is nothing to paste into a box at checkout, because you are not buying anything, you are opening an investment account. What AJ Bell does run is a refer-a-friend offer, and it works through a personal link rather than a code.

So when a coupon site shows you an "AJ Bell voucher code", what they are really giving you is a referral link like mine. Using my link is the honest version of the same thing, and it pays a real £100 Amazon voucher to both of us once you fund the account.

What Is AJ Bell?

AJ Bell is one of the UK's largest and longest-running investment platforms. It is a FTSE 250 company that has been going since 1995 and now looks after billions of pounds for hundreds of thousands of UK investors.

In plain terms, it is a place to hold and manage your investments. You open an account, pay money in, and buy funds, shares, investment trusts and ETFs inside it. The main account types are:

  • Stocks and shares ISA for tax-free investing up to your annual ISA allowance
  • SIPP (Self-Invested Personal Pension) for retirement saving with tax relief on contributions
  • Lifetime ISA for first-home savers and retirement, with a government bonus
  • Dealing account for general investing outside a tax wrapper

It is worth being clear about one thing early. AJ Bell is an investment platform, not a savings account. The value of what you hold can fall as well as rise, and you can get back less than you put in. The £100 voucher is a nice extra, it is not a reason to invest money you cannot afford to have at risk.

Who Is the £100 AJ Bell Offer For?

This offer suits you if you are:

  • Opening your first ISA or pension and planning to pay in at least £10,000 over the first few months
  • Moving an existing ISA or pension to a cheaper or simpler platform, since transfers count towards the £10,000
  • A UK resident aged 18 or over who has not held an AJ Bell account in the last 12 months
  • Comfortable investing for the medium to long term and happy that your capital is at risk

It is not for you if you only want to park a few hundred pounds, or if you are not ready to have money invested in the market. The £10,000 funding bar is real, so be honest with yourself about whether this fits your plans before you chase the voucher.

How to Claim the £100 AJ Bell Referral Bonus

  3. Open an eligible account, a SIPP, Stocks and shares ISA, Lifetime ISA or Dealing account
  4. Complete the application, you need to be a UK resident aged 18 or over, and you verify your identity as part of the process
  5. Fund a combined £10,000 within 120 days using new money, ISA subscriptions or a transfer of an existing ISA or pension
  6. Receive £100, AJ Bell emails a £100 Amazon.co.uk gift card to both of us, usually within about 30 days of the funding requirement being met

The Qualifying Conditions in Plain English

The offer has a few rules and I would rather you know them up front than be disappointed later. As of July 2026:

  • The account must be new, and you must not have held an AJ Bell account in the last 12 months
  • You must fund a combined £10,000 or more within 120 days of opening the account
  • Funding can be contributions, ISA subscriptions or transfers from an existing ISA or pension
  • Both you and I must still be AJ Bell customers at the point the voucher is sent
  • AJ Bell can reclaim the voucher if you close the account or withdraw most of the money within 12 months of claiming
  • You must be a UK resident aged 18 or over

AJ Bell can change or withdraw these terms at any time, so read AJ Bell's own refer-a-friend page before you commit money. Do not move an old pension across just for a voucher without checking you are not giving up valuable benefits or paying an exit penalty.

AJ Bell Fees at a Glance

ChargeAJ Bell (ISA), as of July 2026
Platform fee on funds0.25% a year
Platform fee on shares, trusts and ETFs0.25% a year, capped at £3.50 a month in an ISA
Share dealing£5 per deal
Fund dealing£1.50 per deal
Account openingFree

Fees change over time, so AJ Bell's charges and rates page is the source of truth before you invest. For most people holding funds and a handful of shares in an ISA, AJ Bell sits in the middle of the market on cost: cheaper than the biggest full-service rivals, a little dearer than the bare-bones free apps.

AJ Bell vs Other UK Investment Platforms

PlatformPlatform fee (funds)Individual shares?Sign-up incentive
AJ Bell0.25%Yes£100 Amazon voucher via referral (£10k funding)
Hargreaves Lansdown0.45%YesOccasional transfer cashback
Vanguard0.15%Vanguard funds and ETFs onlyNone
Trading 212FreeYesFractional free share
InvestEngineFree (DIY)ETFs onlyOccasional welcome bonus

The cheaper apps like Trading 212 and InvestEngine win on headline cost, but they are more limited in what you can hold and the support is app-only. Hargreaves Lansdown is the closest full-service rival to AJ Bell and charges more on funds. Vanguard is cheap but you are stuck inside its own range. For me, AJ Bell hits the balance of low-enough fees, a full choice of shares and funds, and support I can actually phone. Fees and offers for every provider change, so check each one's current charges page.

How I Actually Use AJ Bell

I have had my AJ Bell Stocks and shares ISA for around six to seven years, so this is genuinely my own money on the platform, not a test account.

What I like:

  • The mobile app is clear and simple. Buying and selling shares takes seconds, and I never have to hunt around to find what I need. It does the job without getting in the way
  • The telephone support is the best I have used anywhere, full stop. Any time I call, I am through to a real human in what feels like under 30 seconds. No long hold music, no endless menus. For something as important as my ISA and pension, that matters more to me than shaving a few basis points off the fee
  • The bulk of my ISA is in a low-cost S&P 500 tracker, with a few individual shares alongside it like SanDisk. Both are easy to buy and manage in the same account
  • Withdrawing from the ISA has always been straightforward. I have taken money out before and it was quick and painless, which is not something you can say about every platform
  • Buying and selling works just as well over the phone as it does in the app, so if I ever want to talk it through with a person, I can

What is worth knowing:

  • My one real gripe is the minimum investment amount when you buy by cash value. If you buy a share by typing in an amount of money rather than a number of shares, the app does not always tell you the minimum you need for that particular stock. So you can enter an amount, be told it is too low, and end up nudging it up bit by bit until the order goes through. It is a small thing, but it is the one part of the app that annoys me
  • AJ Bell is not the cheapest option if all you want is a simple ETF portfolio. The free apps undercut it on headline fees, though you give up the full share range and the phone support
  • Investing is not risk-free. My S&P 500 holding has had down years as well as up ones. That is normal for the stock market, but it is worth saying plainly

For me, the combination of a clean app and genuinely excellent phone support is why I have stayed for six to seven years and why I am happy to refer people to it.

Is AJ Bell Safe?

Yes, AJ Bell is a well-established and properly regulated UK platform, with the usual investment caveat.

AJ Bell Securities Limited (firm reference number 155593) and AJ Bell Management Limited (firm reference number 211468) are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. You can look both up on the FCA Register. AJ Bell is also a FTSE 250 listed company, which brings an extra layer of public scrutiny and reporting.

Your money and investments are protected up to £85,000 by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if AJ Bell itself were to fail. Client money is held separately from the company's own money, as the rules require.

The important nuance: the FSCS protects you if the platform fails, not against your investments falling in value. If the S&P 500 has a bad year, that is market risk, and no compensation scheme covers it. That is simply the nature of investing, and it is why you should only invest money you can leave alone for the medium to long term.

AJ Bell is rated around 4.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot from over 4,000 reviews as of July 2026, which matches my own experience of the service.
