This privacy policy explains how Mike McDonnell (“I”, “me”, “my”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit mikemcdonnell.co.uk (“the website”).

- Newsletter signups: your email address, your first name if you choose to give it, the page you signed up on, and whether you have opened or clicked the emails.
- Analytics data: anonymised browsing data through Google Analytics 4 (pages visited, time on site, device type, approximate location).
- Cookies: essential cookies for site functionality and optional analytics cookies (see Cookies section below).
How I Use Your Data
- To respond to your enquiries via the contact form
- To send you The Growth Toolkit, my Sunday newsletter, but only after you have signed up and confirmed your email address
- To understand how visitors use the website and improve the experience
- To track and measure the effectiveness of content

Your data may be shared with the following third-party services, which have their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics 4, website analytics
- Kit (ConvertKit), the email service that stores newsletter subscriber details and sends the newsletter on my behalf (view their privacy policy)
- Vercel / SiteGround, website hosting
- Web3Forms, which delivers the contact form to my inbox
- Resend, which emails work enquiries from the work with me page and the business finance pre-check form to me, and sends work enquirers a confirmation. Those enquiries are not stored on this website.
I do not sell or share your personal data with any other third parties.

Data Retention
I retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy. Contact form data is kept for up to 12 months. Newsletter subscriber details are kept in Kit while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe and want your details deleted as well, email me and I will remove them.

I take reasonable steps to protect your personal data, including using HTTPS encryption, secure hosting, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure.
